Instructions to Schools & Coordinators for the GO-350 Competition
GO-350 is an online gaming competition that includes three rounds of competition. All students are encouraged to participate and everyone who registers wins a prize. We are pleased to provide cash rewards of $300, $150 and $75 to Top 3 winners of Round 3. ! We request that you
1. Put up the flyers on student notice boards. (attached to the email you received and also available at www.globalchallengeaward.org). If you need multiple print copies, please email management@globalchallengeaward.org.
2. Announce the competition in class by a teacher and encourage students to register.
- Hold the competition as a “school activity” wherein students undertake round one (one hour of online game play) at the school campus as an activity during or after school hours.
- Promote the competition to its students but students decide to play round one at a facility of their choice (home, public library, a club they may be a member of etc.).
- Identify a coordinator for the competition at the school. The person can be a science, social science, computer teacher, parent, or an after school club coordinator.
- The Coordinator will work with teachers or after school clubs to fix a schedule and coordinate the logistics. The competition requires
a) Windows-based computer (games will not work on Macintosh-based computers).
b) Connection to the Internet. Students will have ONE hour to complete the games.
c) Students will need a credit card during registration
Schools can choose one of the two approaches to go forward with the competition for Round one.
If there are an adequate number of students from your school who have qualified for round two, you can choose to hold round two at your school. Otherwise, Round 2 can be played at a facility of the student’s choice. Round three will in person at a central location which will be communicated to schools and students by Dec 1st, 2009
If you choose the first option for round one, then the following steps will help you get organized:
The Coordinator will register the school at http://members.globalchallengeaward.org/students/teacherLogin. This will enable the coordinator to provide the school name which will be used by students during their individual sign-up. The other benefit of registering is the coordinator will obtain the ability to view registered student details from their school, reset student’s passwords or serial keys, and view the round one performance of students from their school.
